Rob and Emilie about Ruby: "She's phenomenal" "She's incredible"

Kristen Stewart doesn't quell Robert Pattinson's self-conscious, hair-pulling tendencies.

Neither does Peter Facinelli, Taylor Lautner or Emilie de Ravin. That honor goes to none other than the actor's 11-year-old Remember Me costar, Ruby Jerins.

"She's so easy to act with," Rob tells E! News. "It's the first time since I've been doing acting that I've felt completely un-self-conscious because I could feel that she wasn't at all. That completely rubs off on me."

That's not the only superlative the Twilight hottie had for the girl who plays his little sister.

"She's phenomenal," he continues. "On the first day I met her, me, Allen [Coulter, the director] and Emilie were sitting around discussing our scenes together and she hadn't really said anything. I kind of asked just to be nice. I was just like, 'So, what do you think about it?' And she's sitting there and goes into this whole diatribe about her character's backstory in the most interesting way. And she'd been writing notes on all the stuff we were saying and was quoting what we were saying to us."

"She's incredible," Emilie agrees, admitting that she and the child star have remained pen-pals over email. "She's just amazing in the film and she's a very, very smart girl. You can just watch her and you can forget what you're meant to be doing."

So could she be the next big child star like Rob's New Moon pal, Dakota Fanning?

"She's going to be a massive actress I think," he says. "She's the best improviser I've ever met. You can literally say anything to her and she'll completely stay in character."

And yet, much to Rob's surprise and chagrin, the Nurse Jackie starlet is still totally a kid.

"She's this hyper-intelligent, hyper-mature kid but I saw her play, and she's like a little girl when you see her with her friends. I don't understand how that happens at all."

"There's something about her—one of those indescribable things," Emilie says.

Rob Says Ruby Will Be “A Massive Actress”

Two weeks ago, TheFABLife scored an invite to the Remember Me press day, where we sat down with Robert Pattinson himself to discuss his latest departure from Edward Cullen. As we focused on not fainting in his presence (and yes, RPattz is just as beautiful in person), our ears perked when he raved about his onscreen sister, 11-year-old Ruby Jerins, of “Nurse Jackie.” The interaction between the two of them was undoubtedly our favorite part of the film. When asked how he channeled that chemistry with such a young actress, Pattinson said:

“She did everything; I mean completely. … She’s phenomenal. She’s going to be a massive actress. She’s the best improviser I’ve ever met. … She’s kind of like one of those weird, hyper-intelligent, hyper-mature kids. … She’s so easy to act with, you don’t have to do anything - just look at her. It’s the first time since the day I began acting where I just feel completely unselfconscious, because I could feel that she wasn’t at all and it rubs off on me.”

Ruby Jerins talks about Rob and 'Remember Me'

If your co-stars are Pierce Brosnan and Robert Pattinson, it would be easy to get overshadowed. However, 11-year old Ruby Jerins managed to hold her own in the upcoming drama Remember Me, even stealing a few scenes. The talented Jerins spoke to RadarOnline.com between a busy school day and a night filled with homework.

While she may not have been familiar with all of her co-stars' work before signing on for the film (she watched New Moon with her dad after filming wrapped on Remember Me), she quickly got to know her hunky onscreen brother and gave him two thumbs up.

"Rob’s great! He’s really just a normal guy...it was really fun for him to be my older brother. I’ve always wanted to have an older brother. He’s very goofy! He’s fun to hang out with," Jerins said adding with a laugh, "He’s unpretentious."

The film- which has a surprise twist- immediately caught Jerins' attention. "I’d only read a few pages [of the script] and I fell in love with it. I finished it in one night. It was intense but it moved me and I loved it so much."

In the film, Jerins plays the precocious dreamer (and budding artist) Caroline Hawkins. Adding a layer of complication, the sweet Caroline- who also serves as Pattinson's character Tyler Hawkins' confidante- has to deal with a distracted, workaholic father (Brosnan), a broken family ripped by tragedy, as well as a gaggle of mean classmates. One jarring scene in which Caroline finds herself the victim of a cruel prank at a sleepover tested Jerins' abilities and inevitably highlighted her maturity as an actress.

"I didn’t actually have lines [for the scene]. Allen [Coulter, director] just let me go with it," she explained. There’s a lot we don’t have in common but I found it easy to connect with her...to get me into the scene I just felt for Caroline and her worries."

Overall, the experience was one massive highlight for the young actress. "It was so fun and everybody was nice to me."

One particular moment that sticks out in her mind was one in which the smooth Brosnan improvised due to a sudden interruption.

"During shooting one of the scenes towards the end, all of a sudden from out of nowhere the phone rang and without breaking character Pierce just walked up and answered it!" she giggled.

Remember Me hits theaters on March 12.

If Twilight is Robert Pattinson’s ride in first class - the smooth, painless jaunt with slightly-prettier views and largely grime-free surroundings, then Remember Me is the British heartthrob’s excursion in Coach - a slightly cheaper, not quite as cushy and slightly bumpier ride without the views and continuous pop music playing from surrounding speakers.
But as most usually discover when they ride coach, it’s a lot more memorable a trip, and even more so, you’re usually surrounded by great people you’ll possibly never forget (in my case, I met one of my oldest friends riding on a bus when I was about 14-years-old!). And I tell ya, you won’t soon forget the people or the plot of the terrific Remember Me either.

No offense to Twilight or its sequels (in fact, I’ve found the films perfectly entertaining), but a scene from any of the flicks isn’t something an artiste would ever likely attach as a wmv file to their email application to Julliard. Perfectly OK film, but its more style over substance, and quite frankly, there’s nothing much for its stars to do but frown, gaze, eyeball or whimper. As a consequence, we haven’t really seen whether or not Robert ‘good guy vampire Edward’ Pattinson has what it takes as an actor (considering he does more sparkling than performing in the latter films). We know he’s got perfect hair, and he’s definitely got enough charisma on-screen and off to convincingly win over his leading lady, but is the young Brit capable of delivering a performance that’d make those decrepit wrinkled film fans at the Kodak theatre sit up and take notice?
We now have the answer. And, it’s Yes.

Pattinson’s turn as the forlorn, love-struck and appreciably human Tyler in Remember Me is the role that’ll turn the young actor from a movie star to an ‘actor’.

Tyler’s your typical troubled youth. Having his lost older brother a few years before, which in turn has consequently pushed his bigwig father (Pierce Brosnan) even further away than he already was, he’s a bit lost, and seemingly convinced nobody knows what he’s going through. That’s until he meets Ally (Emilie de Ravin), a young girl with just as many horrors in her past, not to mention father problems of her own. Together, Tyler and Ally find happiness and a reason to carry on.

There’s a black cloud hanging over the relationship though. Unbeknownst to Ally, Tyler knows her father, and their coming together had nothing to do with chance. The stern New York Police Detective (Chris Cooper) had arrested him not long before. And it was only when Tyler and his roommate (Tate Ellington) discovered Ally was the officer’s daughter did they decide to approach her.

Directed by Allen Coulter (Hollywoodland) and based on a script by Will Fetters, this highly-emotional journey is all meat. Here, you’ll witness not only fine performances, but be immersed in a story that not only captives, but touches, teaches and quite possibly, makes us a better person as a result. It really is, quite the package.

The romance at the center of the film, performed brilliantly and credibly by Pattinson and Lost star de Ravin, is one of the rawest, realest and most unforced couplings in recent years. It works brilliantly. There’s more fantastical about it at all - thus, you honestly believe they’re a true-blue couple.

Just as credible is the relationship between Pattinson and on-screen father Pierce Brosnan - it plays far more valid than most on-screen father-and-son duos, with the former 007 giving an especially grounded but welcomingly more multifarious take on an armour-clad father, hell-bent on not exposing his real emotions.

And speaking of memorable performances, young Ruby Jerins, playing Tyler’s inhibited and bullied sister, gives one that’ll hopefully catch the attention of the award voters early 2011.

Many will talk of the film’s shock ending, which quite frankly seems to come out of nowhere, as brilliant an idea as it may be, but that hopefully won’t overshadow the fine film that’s played out up til then.

Remember Me is the first great film of 2010. Not to be missed.

NEW YORK — The mountains of snow piled up on the sidewalks could not keep Robert Pattinson's fans at bay Monday evening (March 1) at the red-carpet premiere for his romantic drama, "Remember Me." The screaming masses lined up early and were gifted with a few moments of rabid OME-dom as RPattz ran down the line greeting all those who waited to catch a glimpse of him.

Inside the makeshift press tent at the Paris Theatre in midtown, the energy was no less wild, the screams of folks waiting to talk with Pattinson no less ear-piercing. But the 23-year-old superstar, tired yet amused as ever by the pandemonium, seemed to take it all in stride. While MTV News was chatting with his co-star Emilie de Ravin, Pattinson leaned over and shouted, "Emilie! Emilie! What's the most fascinating thing about me? Just say it!"

It was that kind of evening, as all involved in "Remember Me" contended with the noisy reality of what it means to have a "Twilight" vampire in your cast. De Ravin and co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper spoke about how this role — in which RPattz plays a rebellious young man who falls for a beautiful girl (De Ravin) — represents a profound evolution for Pattinson as an actor.

"It means growth," Cooper said of his co-star's part. "Robert had a big hand as an executive producer in this film. That tells me he's going to branch out into fields other than acting. He's got a lot to deal with already, but he's been able to handle it beautifully."

De Ravin, who earlier had told MTV News about her instant connection with Pattinson, continued to rave about his skills in front of the camera. "He's amazing," she said. "He's fascinating to watch because he's so naturally subtle and interesting."

While the cries from onlookers increased as Pattinson went to greet his fans, Brosnan could only stand back and watch with pride. "This is his night," he said. "I think this particular piece of drama for him is very significant as a young actor who's come on the stage in a blinding glare of light and fame. He's an executive producer on this film, so he's committed himself to finding good work."

Exclusive red carpet coverage of Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin’s ‘Remember Me

Tonight, at the Paris The­ater on West 58th Street in New York City, New York, the pre­miere for Robert Pat­tin­son and Emi­lie de Ravin’s Remem­ber Me took place in front of hun­dreds of tena­cious fans.

Some fans reported being in line for over four hours prior to the event’s begin­ning. That’s a far cry from the time spent await­ing the pre­miere of The Twi­light Saga: New Moon in Los Ange­les last Novem­ber, but it’s also absolutely freez­ing in New York in March.

To cover the event, I teamed up with Heidi from Twi­light Face­book to inter­view some of the cast of the film on the red car­pet of the premiere.

Attend­ing the pre­miere were, of course, Pat­tin­son and de Ravin as well as co-stars Pierce Bros­nan, Ruby Jerins, Lena Olin, Gre­gory Jbara, Pey­ton List, Chris Cooper, and oth­ers. Also present were first-time screen­writer Will Fet­ters and vet­eran New Yorker and Remem­ber Me direc­tor Allen Coul­ter as well as the wise-thinking pro­ducer Nick Osbourne. Sup­port­ing atten­dants at the event included Kris­ten Stew­art, Tom Stur­ridge, and others.
