Lady Gaga is to kick off a new comic book series focusing on the lives of pop culture icons.
American publisher Bluewater Productions announced the launch of the new series, to be called Fame.
The first issue, featuring the life story of the US singer, will be out in time for Free Comic Book Day on May 5.
Recently, pop culture artist Brian Einersen announced an entirely separate comic called Lady Saga, inspired by the pop diva and featuring fictional adventures in the world of fashion.
Future issues of Bluewater's Fame series will focus on such stars as Robert Pattinson, 50 Cent, David Beckham and Taylor Swift.
Bluewater president Darren G. Davis said: "Over the past year we saw an opportunity to broaden the scope of who reads comics.

The “Twilight” heartthrob virtually chuckled from beginning to the end of our interview.
“Will you marry me?” our female colleague proposed to Robert. She was, of course, joking, since we all knew that in the “Eclipse” volume of “The Twilight Saga” series, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan finally get engaged. Or, at least we thought our Asian friend was only teasing Robert, because he was downright charming and easygoing.
“Why not?” Robert shot back, his blue-green eyes smiling, but he was blushing. With his three days’ worth of facial hair growth and trademark bed hair adding to his roguish charm, Robert probably gets several marriage proposals every day. Even Megan Fox said in an interview: “I want to eat Robert Pattinson.”
British trait
“I’m honestly being self-deprecating,” he said of his disarming, self-effacing British trait. “Eventually, people are like, ‘Oh, we’re so sick of the self-deprecating act. Why can’t he grow some balls?’ I guess you have to roll with that. You do realize that if you keep putting yourself down all the time, an audience suddenly says, ’That guy is an idiot!’ So, it’s strange. You have to push in certain areas. It’s always two steps forward, and one step back.”

The huge success of the “Twilight” film series (and subsequent mystery over his suspected romance with co-star Kristen Stewart — are they or aren’t they dating?) has thrust the often-scruffy Pattinson into the limelight. The self-proclaimed non-trendy dresser is frequently seen wearing basic black Nikes, but perhaps it’s Pattinson’s I-don’t-care attitude that has female (and probably male) teens looking up to the actor for fashion tips.

We're still very much in the eye of the storm when it comes to Robert Pattinson. The scruffy, unassuming 23-year-old Brit didn't really ask for the media storm and fangirl craze surrounding him, but he has it anyway. The one good thing about it is that he can use it to push non-"Twilight" films of his that would otherwise go unnoticed at the box-office.
Whether he has the goods to become a strong actor however remains in question as his performances in the likes of "Little Ashes" and the "Twilight" films haven't met with acclaim. The former however was a far too ambitious role beyond his depth as yet, the latter is a character with an admittedly limited range of playability. 'Remember' at last gives us a vehicle that seems suitable for him and could crossover into "A Walk to Remember" or "The Notebook" style sleeper hit.
He's also got some strong support on hand with a screenplay by "Rachel Getting Married" scribe Jenny Lumet, and direction from TV directing great Allen Coulter ("Hollywoodland," "Rome," "The Sopranos"). Should Lumet's script keep the genuine and raw emotional power of 'Rachel', combined with the impressive supporting cast on offer, we should have good drama. Will Pattinson fit comfortably into that or be the weak link in the chain along the lines of Zac Efron in "Me and Orson Welles" or Ben Affleck in "The Sum of All Fears"?
