George Clooney says he’s "glad he’s not in Competition with Robert"

Last week, Up in the Air actress Anna Kendrick blabbed that her leading man George Clooney had displayed his jealous side whenever he talked about her Twilight Saga co-star Robert Pattinson. And when we caught up with George at last night’s New York Film Critic’s Circle Awards, the Oscar-winner told OK! that he’s happy he doesn’t have to compete with R-Pattz for movie roles.

“Thank God I don’t have to,” the Fantastic Silver Fox explained to OK!. “He’s young and handsome and talented.”

It was on The View that Anna revealed George’s streak of R-Pattz envy.

“Whenever I came back [from shooting Twilight, it was like, ‘Oh, sorry, this isn’t the Twilight set,'" she recalled. "'You’re not working with Mr. Handsome.’ He called Rob ‘Mr. Handsome.’”

To help him cope, Anna got Rob to sign a copy of his April GQ cover for Clooney: “To George: Best of Luck. Hang in there. Love, Rob.”

Robert NOT going to Sao Paulo Fashion Week (Brazil)

For some time now Gossip Cop has been receiving questions about claims that Robert Pattinson will be attending São Paulo Fashion Week, which runs from January 17-22.

Even the Brazilian organizers recently tweeted (in Portuguese), “Nossas fontes afirmam que Robert Pattinson vem, mas não necessariamente para desfilar…,” which loosely means, “Our sources can affirm that Robert Pattinson will come, but not necessarily to walk the runway.”

So is it “verdadeiro”? True?

Gossip Cop investigated, and we have learned that Pattinson will NOT walk the runway. In fact, he will NOT be at São Paulo Fashion Week at all.

Robert for "Spiderman"?

With the latest news about "Spider-Man 4" biting the dust, comes a huge vacancy in the Hollywood film franchise world. Sam Raimi is gone. So are the franchise's stars Tobey Maguire and Kristen Dunst.

Sony has tweeted the depressing deets on their Twitter site. But let's not wallow in this setback. Let's help the studio along and start rebuilding with the lead role.

Which hot young actor should be the new Spider-Man?

How about Twilight" star Robert Pattinson, or his vampire costar Kellan Lutz? Maybe "Gossip Girl" hottie Chace Crawford? Or budding film star Zac Efron?

Or someone else like Lucas Till, Nick Jonas, Beau Mirchoff, Charles Carver, Nico Tortorella, Jared Padalecki, Channing Tatum, Tristan Wilds, Dustin Milligan, Ed Westwick (maybe as a villain), Matt Lanter or Josh Henderson?

We can even let Taylor Lautner train them. Dude knows a little something about adding muscle to his career, having bulked up for "New Moon" and recently signed to play superhero "Max Steel."

Spiderman will take a while to retool, according to the studio so don't expect a film any time soon.

In the meantime, you'll have to make do with Julie Taymor's Broadway version, which will star Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cuming (no, not as Spidey).
