'Ask Rob' - Video #3 - Ruby Jerins

Bel Ami Scheculed To Start Shooting on February 7

Over the last few months, pre-production on Robert Pattinson’s Bel Ami has been charging forward as we’ve covered the casting of Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman/Kristin Scott Thomas. Now that the casting of the major players has been completed, we’ve been told principal photography on Bel Ami is scheduled to begin February 7 and they’ll be filming in London and Budapest. Here’s the synopsis:

Bel Ami is the story of Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson), who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.

Based on the synopsis, I think Pattinson’s female fanbase is going to be very happy watching this movie. Hit the jump for more:

The other bit of news we were informed of is exactly who each actor is playing in the film and some more casting info. Here’s what we were sent:

Robert Pattinson plays Georges Duroy in this erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction. Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) is Madeleine, Kristin Scott Thomas (Nowhere Boy, I’ve Loved You So Long) is Virginie, Christina Ricci (Monster, The Ice Storm) is Clotilde, Holly Grainger (Scouting Book for Boys) is Suzanne, Philip Glenister (Life on Mars, Calendar Girls) is Charles, and Colm Meaney (The Damned United, The Snapper) plays Duroy’s adversary, Rousset. The screenplay is written by Rachel Bennette from the novel by Guy de Maupassant, and the film is directed by the influential and innovative Cheek By Jowl directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.

BEL AMI is produced by Uberto Pasolini (The Full Monty, Machan) with Simon Fuller as executive producer. The director of photography is Hagen Bogdanski (The Young Victoria, The Lives of Others); Attila F. Kovacs (Sunshine, Meeting Venus) is production designer; the costumes are designed by Odile Dicks-Mireaux (An Education, The Constant Gardener); the hair and make-up designer is Jenny Shircore (The Young Victoria, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) and the editor is Masahiro Hirakubo (The Duchess, Trainspotting).

With interest in Robert Pattinson very high, I’d imagine as soon as they are filming at any outside location, images are going to leak from the set. More as we get it.

Rob and Kristen Make Vanity Fair's List of Hollywood's Top 40 Money Makers

Michael Bay (pictured), director and producer of the blockbuster Transformers series, beat mogul Steven Spielberg to top Vanity Fair's inaugural list of Hollywood's Top 40 Money Makers, which the magazine releases on Tuesday. Bay pulled in $125 million last year, according to the magazine, ahead of Spielberg ($85 million), action director Roland Emmerich ($70 million), Avatar auteur James Cameron ($50 million), and Todd Phillips, producer of The Hangover ($44 million). The magazine limits its list to film-industry creatives: producers, directors, and stars.

Nine women made it into the top 40. The list's highest-ranking actress, Emma Watson (no. 14), beats out Cameron Diaz (no. 19), Sarah Jessica Parker (no. 24), Katherine Heigl (no. 25), and Reese Witherspoon (no. 31). For now, Hogwarts trumps vampires: Along with Watson, Harry Potter hero Daniel Radcliffe (no. 6) and supporting actor Rupert Grint (no. 15) rank far above Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson (no. 35) and Kristen Stewart (no. 37).

The magazine interviewed scores of Hollywood insiders to compile the list, says contributing editor Peter Newcomb, who compiled the list. Although agents, lawyers, studio executives, and even the stars themselves provided the deal numbers, calculating the earning power isn't always an exact science, Newcomb says.

Who will we see on the list in 2011? Count on Twilight's Taylor Lautner to be here, and for a stronger showing from the King of the World. Avatar director Cameron helped generated sales of more than $800 million for 2009, and his no. 1 movie will most likely also be on the 2010 list a year from now. Also hitting multiplexes this year: the third Fockers installment, for which Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller will each earn about $20 million. Owen Wilson will pull in $15 million for his efforts.

The March Vanity Fair will be on newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on Wednesday and will be available nationally on next Tuesday. Here's the full list:

Holly Grainger to work with Rob again - confirmed for 'Bel Ami'

From BelAmiFilm.com

BelAmiFilm.com has received confirmation that Holliday (Holly Grainger) has indeed been cast as Suzanne as we first reported last week.

Robert Pattinson fans will recall Holliday (Holly) Grainger from The Bad Mother’s Handbook, she starred opposite him in 2007 as pregnant teen Charlie Cooper. We are very excited about this addition to the cast.

Screendaily.com is confirming Graingers role as well as the previously reported casting of Philip Glenister which BelAmiFilm.com also reported on last week.
